Is the port of the century and is one of the most modern ports, which were created under the BOT system and managed system of logistics centers, a giant national projects is the result of planning and systematic implementation of a very important stage in the development of Egypt on the global maritime map. Is the first port of a central comprehensive, integrated and multi-purpose and falls under the name "Third Generation ports" to serve export and import operations of general cargo, dry bulk and container handling and is equipped with the latest modern technology.

The port is located on the western coast of the Gulf of Suez on an area of ??22.3 square kilometers and at a distance of 43 km from the city of Suez.

Pursue the development of the port
- Contract has been signed franchise development company Sukhna and allow Dubai World to acquire a stake in the ruling Port Development Company Sokhna winning a concession contract management and operation of the first dock of Sokhna port.
- It is expected that total investment during the next three years to 12 billion pounds.
- Expected to be completed two projects for the production of ammonia and handling of liquid bulk.
- Dubai Ports would create a quay length of 1300 meters and draft of 16 meters to accommodate 2 million TEUs per annum and the creation of liquid bulk terminal on an area of ??400 thousand square meters and the station of the general cargo berth of 800 meters.
- The company will provide 2700 job opportunities.
